DR. TAE-SUP LEE
IMMEDIATE PAST INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT |
Dr. Tae-Sup TS Lee, of Seoul, Republic of Korea,
was elected to serve as president
of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association's
86th International
Convention, held in Denver, Colorado, USA, June 30 - July 4,
2003.
Past President Lee is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology (M.I.T.),
USA, with a doctorate in chemical engineering. He has been the
president of several
companies in Korea, served four terms as a member of the Korean
National Assembly
and was his country's Minister of Political Affairs and Minister
of Science and Technology.
A Lion since 1975 and member of the Seoul Sejong Lions Club with
28 years of
perfect attendance, Past President Lee has held many positions
within the association,
including club president, zone chair, region chair, district
governor and council chair. He
served as an international director on the associations
board of directors from 1993 to
1995. He also was chair of the 32nd OSEAL Forum and co-chair
of the Host Committee
for the 78th International Convention.
Past President Lee has received numerous awards in recognition
of his service to the
association, including several International President's Award
Medals and the
Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest award the association
grants to its
members. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
Past President Lee and his wife, Haing-Ja, also a Progressive
Melvin Jones Fellow,
have two sons and three grandchildren. Both sons and their spouses
are Melvin Jones Fellows.
